Official Chinese course!

Yes, we now have an official Chinese course!

This was approved by the branch, and started in mid-October. As of this writing, we are now in the fifth week.

There are 32 students, which is over the standard limit of 26, but the circuit overseer continued to add others who are classified as "observers."

We are holding classes every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., except for umuganda (the public community service day on the last Saturday morning of every month), when they are scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The students, all of whom now have Chinese names, are doing very well, and we are having a blast! We, the three instructors, are using our collective creative abilities to try to make the course as instructive and interesting as possible.

After a video is created of the course, I will post on this blog.

So ... I never dreamed I would be teaching a Mandarin course in Africa!

  1. Ingenuity is clearly seen in the pose itself. Keep up the work!
