Well, our second Chinese language course was interrupted by the pandemic, after seven weeks of classes. That left nine weeks remaining. We, the instructors, decided that we would complete those nine weeks by sending homework (actually, placing it on dropbox.com) and assigning the students to complete it and send it via e-mail to us. We also asked each student to send us an audio recording of a presentation that he/she would create, using another student as the assistant.
So, no more live classes from March onward. It was a disappointment, to be sure, but necessary for everyone's safety. That made the last class in June somewhat of an anticlimax.
But on the evening of Sunday, September 6, we decided to hold a special program for the students with demonstrations, talks, and interviews--similar to what we held for the students of the first course, except that we had no Bible dramas and, of course, no food. The program was presented on Zoom, and there was no limit to the number of friends and family members that could be invited. So we ended up with audience members tied in from various places in the world! The total attendance was several hundred!
Most of the students have transferred to the Chinese congregation. This almost doubled the number of publishers! We're now well equipped!
